ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Gayle announced that her procedure was successful & she is adapting

REVIEWS:
John O reviewed watching several episodes of 'For All Mankind' on Apple TV Plus as having an alternate universe history setting with a well-captured mood, pretty darned good cast & the writing is fairly strong & recommended & he reviewed that they binge watched & finished the 1st season of 'Space Force' on Netflix as humor with mangled military protocol & this can be grating, but is reasonably solid & somewhat recommended

Lisa reviewed the Dragon launch, set to a modified 'Blue Danube' as interesting & reviewed California State University at Northridge's (CSUN) Outdoor Adventures as well done & fun to watch, with a Q&A session. You can find them on Eventbriite

Todd reviewed seeing http://strangehorizons.com/fiction/and-now-his-lordship-is-laughing/ - as very well done

Howeird reviewed the entire 'Picard' series on Amazon Prime thru CBS All Access -AKA- 'CBS All Buffering' - as Amazon gets good marks, he does not recommend CBS & has mixed feelings about the show & its the apologist tone, the plot is all over the place, the series is longer than it should have been & they needed better lighting. Then Dave G followed on CBS All Access as it can use improvement; Cliff says he really loved 'Picard'

Gayle reviewed reading a Wikipedia article on Shay’s Rebellion as it was an interesting historical event that had an effect on the formation of a new United States; Fred followed that to understand Shay's Rebellion, you need to know the context at the time and the Wiki article does not cover that aspect well & Gerald pointed out that a major cause for the rebellion was the issue of debt - which has modern parallels

Fred reviewed Tor.com's 'book convention' which is starting this week as it will be more of an extended event over many days on at least 2 platform & that some of the planned events sound promising; see
https://www.tor.com/2020/06/01/announcing-torcon-a-virtual-books-convention/

we adjourned at 8:48 pm

Rumor of the week was = 'who let the pandemic out of the pan?'
