regular total is $15,632.83; party total is $230.58

the VP had nothing remarkable to report

the President had nothing fannish to report - but noted we have reached the year's halfway point - which seems like more of an accomplishment than usual

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Lisa announced that she has her first stripe done for her Doctor Who afghan done & Howeird asked if it was bigger on the inside than the outside

Gayle announced that the voting deadline for the Hugo awards this year is July 22

REVIEWS:
Kennita reviewed “The World’s End”, starring Simon Pegg as it is a good vehicle for him & a bit slow to become scifi but she enjoyed it & Rick followed that it is the concluding film for Edgar Wright's notional 'Cornetto Trilogy', starting with 'Shaun of the Dead' and then 'Hot Fuzz'

Howeird reviewed the 2-DVD set for 'The Lost Room', a scifi series, as a fascinating premise & enjoyable - as long as you start with the 1st DVD - & worth full price

Todd reviewed 'Middlegame' by Seanan McGuire as he had trouble putting it down or doing anything else as he enjoyed it so much, Trey followed as he thought it was fairly creative & liked it

Rick reviewed 'The Boys' as he enjoyed it tremendously, worth the time & absolutely frigging hilarious & he thanks the person who recommended it last week, Dave C followed that he also enjoyed it & that it is toned down from the graphic novel

Gerry reviewed that the latest Rocket Lab launch failed about the time they do the battery swap & it fell to earth & he commented that 'space is hard' especially since the New Zealand scenery is absolutely beautiful there; see = https://spacenews.com/rocket-lab-electron-launch-fails/
...and Gerald reviewed happily that scientists have confirmed that there are at least 3 planets in orbit around Lacaiile 9352 / Gliese 887 - very close to the orbits posited in his stories with Candy

Dave Wallis reviewed the 'related works' Hugo nomination category is that he likes Farah Mendlesohn's literary biography of Heinlein best 'The Pleasant Profession of Robert A. Heinlein', but that J. Michael Straczynski's autobiography Becoming Superman is a strong #2 and has some amazing writing in it & Rick followed with gentle humor, Lisa = as Straczynski says himself, his name is a bunch of consonants in search of a vowel

we adjourned at 8:39 pm

Rumor of the week was = 'Dr. Fauci's service dog is named Spike'
